We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join a busy and supportive GP Practice in Northampton. Working closely with the Practice Nursing Team, you will play an important role in delivering high-quality patient care, supporting a wide range of clinical services, and helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HCA looking to develop their career within Primary Care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a high-quality phlebotomy service
- Undertake NHS Health Checks and routine health assessments
- Record blood pressure, height, weight, ECGs, urinalysis, peak flow measurements, and other baseline observations
- Assist with wound care, infection prevention and control, and minor surgical procedures
- Process laboratory samples and maintain accurate clinical records using SystmOne
- Chaperone patients during clinical examinations where required
- Maintain vaccine cold chain records and monitor clinical equipment
- Restock clinical rooms and maintain medical supplies
- Support health promotion initiatives and patient education
- Work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary primary care team

Essential
- Phlebotomy Certificate
- Experience working as a Healthcare Assistant
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and IT skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

- Understanding of confidentiality and information governance
Desirable
- Previous experience working within General Practice
