About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join a busy and supportive GP Practice in Northampton.

Working closely with the Practice Nursing Team, you will play an important role in delivering high-quality patient care, supporting a wide range of clinical services, and helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HCA looking to develop their career within Primary Care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide a high-quality phlebotomy service

Undertake NHS Health Checks and routine health assessments Record blood pressure, height, weight, ECGs, urinalysis, peak flow measurements, and other baseline observations Assist with wound care, infection prevention and control, and minor surgical procedures Process laboratory samples and maintain accurate clinical records using SystmOne Chaperone patients during clinical examinations where required Maintain vaccine cold chain records and monitor clinical equipment Restock clinical rooms and maintain medical supplies Support health promotion initiatives and patient education Work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary primary care team

What We're Looking ForEssential

• Phlebotomy Certificate

Experience working as a Healthcare Assistant Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organisational and IT skills Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team Commitment to delivering high-quality patient-centred care Understanding of confidentiality and information governance

Desirable

• Previous experience working within General Practice

Experience using SystmOne Experience undertaking NHS Health Checks Knowledge of infection prevention and control procedures
