About the Role
Our client is recruiting a Uro-Gynae Nurse Specialist to join its growing Community Gynaecology Service across Birmingham and Sandwell.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team delivering specialist community-based gynaecology services, providing assessment, investigation, treatment, and ongoing management for women with urogynaecological conditions.
Working alongside Consultants, GPwERs, Specialist Nurses, and Allied Health Professionals, you will lead nurse-led clinics and provide expert support for patients with urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, recurrent urinary tract infections, and other pelvic floor disorders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage an autonomous caseload of patients with urogynaecological conditions
- Undertake comprehensive patient assessments, including bladder diaries, pelvic examinations, and pad testing
- Perform and interpret urodynamic studies and bladder scans where competent
- Undertake catheterisation procedures and long-term catheter management
- Fit, manage, and review vaginal pessaries for pelvic organ prolapse
- Deliver conservative management programmes including pelvic floor training and bladder retraining
- Provide specialist patient education, advice, and emotional support
- Act as a key worker coordinating patient care across multidisciplinary services
- Participate in MDT meetings, clinical governance, audits, and service development initiatives
- Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure high standards of patient care and safety
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- NMC Registered Nurse
- Extensive post-registration experience within a relevant specialist area
- Experience working within Gynaecology, Urology, or Continence Services
- Strong assessment, communication, and clinical decision-making skills
- Ability to work autonomously within an agreed scope of practice
- Experience managing complex patient caseloads
- Full UK driving licence and ability to travel between clinic locations
Desirable
- Degree qualification or equivalent experience
- Specialist qualification in Urogynaecology or Continence Care
- Accredited Continence or Urodynamics qualification
- Independent Prescriber qualification
- Experience supporting learners and junior colleagues
- Experience working across community and secondary care pathways
