Roles & Responsibilities
As an English Tutor, you will deliver high-quality, engaging lessons tailored to different learning styles. This role is primarily focused on in-person delivery at our Slough centre , with opportunities for online/hybrid teaching.
- Teach English Language and Literature across key stages, including 11+ preparation, GCSE, IGCSE, and A-Level.
- Explain advanced literary analysis, essay structures, grammar, and texts clearly and enthusiastically.
- Adapt your teaching methods to suit individual learning paces, helping students build critical thinking and communication skills.
- Prepare students thoroughly for major UK exams (AQA, Edexcel, OCR, etc.) using structured, syllabus-aligned lesson plans.
- What You’ll Need
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria
- A Bachelor of Education (B. Ed.), PGCE, QTS, or an equivalent recognized professional teaching qualification (ideally specializing in English or Secondary Education).
- Deep knowledge of the UK English curriculum up to A-Level (Language and Literature).
- Ability to travel regularly to the dedicated tuition centre in the
Slough area for face-to-face sessions.
- A minimum of one year of formal teaching or tutoring experience.
- An Enhanced DBS certificate (or a willingness to obtain one before onboarding).
Desirable
- A Master’s degree in English, Creative Writing, or Education.
- Direct experience teaching specific exam boards for GCSE/IGCSE and A-Level English.
