Flexzo Teach is a recruitment, safeguarding and compliance platform that enables educational settings to book education professionals directly, without the need for an agency, managed service provider or other third-party intermediaries. Educational settings use the platform for workforce cover, long-term placements and permanent recruitment. We are building local talent pools so more settings can switch on direct bookings in Preston.
To expand coverage where you live, we are inviting Alternate Provision Tutors to pre-register. Getting started takes a CV upload and a short profile setup. When you join, it helps us show local educational settings that they can meet support needs through a direct model, with transparency and direct communication with you.
What you can expect
- Access flexible tutoring opportunities with local educational settings (short-term, long-term and ongoing support opportunities).
- Receive direct booking requests and messages from settings through the platform.
- Set your availability and preferred working patterns, including in-person and/or online delivery.
- Set your hourly rate with full transparency.
- Be visible to settings building internal staff banks and collaborative staff banks, meaning you may also be requested for interview as schools and trusts expand their local banks.
- Share your subject specialisms and preferred key stages so settings can match you to relevant tutoring needs.
Typical responsibilities (varies by setting)
- Delivering tutoring sessions in line with agreed objectives and the setting’s priorities.
- Planning and adapting learning activities to meet learner needs, including appropriate differentiation and reasonable adjustments where required.
- Supporting learners to engage with learning tasks and build independent learning strategies.
- Recording session notes or progress updates where required and sharing these with appropriate staff.
- Communicating clearly with setting contacts to confirm delivery approach, timings, and any required resources.
- Following safeguarding and compliance processes and escalating concerns in line with setting policy.
Requirements
- Experience tutoring learners in an educational setting or in a structured tutoring environment or strong relevant teaching/learning support experience.
- Right to work in the UK.
- DBS certificate (or willingness to complete one if required, particularly for in-person delivery).
- Confidence delivering sessions in-person and/or online, with clear communication and reliable professional conduct.
- Subject knowledge aligned to your tutoring offer (e.g. English, Maths, Science, Primary, SEND support).
