About the Role
Flexzo Teach is currently recruiting for a confident, enthusiastic and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join a secondary school in Kings Langley, Hertfordshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong classroom management skills who enjoys working with young people and supporting their education.
The successful candidate will supervise classes during short-term teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged with their learning and maintaining a positive, productive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise secondary school classes during teacher absences.
- Deliver pre-planned activities and ensure students complete assigned work.
- Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and engagement.
- Support students across different subjects and key stages.
- Provide guidance and assistance to pupils during lessons.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Communicate with teaching staff regarding student progress and completed work.
- Respond appropriately to safeguarding and pastoral concerns.
- Support administrative duties and lunchtime supervision.
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- Confidence supervising groups of secondary school students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with young people.
- Adaptability and confidence working across different curriculum subjects.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour appropriately.Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational role.
- Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) status or relevant teaching qualifications.
- Experience working in a secondary school environment.
- Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and school safeguarding procedures.
Qualified Teacher Status is not required for this position.
