We’re recruiting a Band 6 Therapeutic Radiographer to join the Oxford Cancer Centre in Oxford. This is an ASAP start role available on a permanent or long-term basis, ideal for a confident radiographer who thrives in a busy treatment environment and is passionate about delivering outstanding, patient-focused care.

The Role

You’ll support the delivery of a high-quality radiotherapy service across treatment and pre-treatment areas, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, accurate and compassionate care. You will:

  • Deliver highly complex radiotherapy treatments in line with IR(ME)R 2017 and relevant radiation regulations
  • Safely operate and care for radiotherapy equipment, accurately interpreting and delivering treatment plans and prescriptions
  • Support a varied patient caseload, including providing advice on treatment procedures and managing treatment-related side effects
  • Maintain accurate, timely patient records and documentation
  • Undertake daily assessment of patients attending for radiotherapy and refer to the wider oncology team when required
  • Analyse and approve treatment verification imaging (including CBCT online/offline) and take appropriate action to maintain treatment accuracy
  • Contribute to quality and safety through adherence to Quality Assurance and ISO Quality Management System procedures
  • Support service improvement through participation in audits, development work, and (where appropriate) the clinical trials portfolio
  • Support training and supervision of students/trainee staff as required

Essential Requirements

  • BSc Radiotherapy
  • HCPC registration
  • Previous NHS radiotherapy experience
  • Strong anatomical knowledge and understanding of radiotherapy planning/dosimetry principles
  • Knowledge of IR(ME)R 2017 responsibilities and commitment to CPD
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to support patients sensitively

Desirable (Nice to Have)

  • Experience with Varian/ARIA Planning systems: Eclipse and/or Somavision
  • Experience with advanced/complex techniques, implementing new technology, audit/research involvement
