Flexzo is working with an NHS Trust in Swindon who are looking for a Registered Nurse to join their Neonatal Intensive Care Unit team.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based care to babies and their families.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans, taking into account the needs of both the baby and their family.
- Deliver developmental care to all babies within the Newborn Care Unit.
- Undertake the safe transfer of babies within the hospital in line with unit policies.
- Administer medications safely in accordance with Newborn Care Unit policies and NMC guidelines, including completion of annual medication assessments.
- Recognise and respond appropriately to neonatal emergencies, escalating concerns and seeking support when required.
- Work in partnership with families, actively involving them in their baby’s care and decision-making.
- Provide families with appropriate education and support to enable them to care for their baby confidently.
- Undertake timely and effective discharge planning, working collaboratively with families.
- Take appropriate action following incidents and ensure accurate reporting via the Ulysses system.
Person Specification
Qualifications – Essential
- Registered Children’s Nurse, Registered Adult Nurse, or Registered Midwife
Desirable
- Recognised qualification in Neonatal Nursing Practice
- Clinical Assessor and Supervisor training
Experience – Essential
- Experience delivering nursing care within a neonatal setting (pre- or post-registration)
