We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Consultant Upper GI Surgeon to join our dynamic surgical team at Northampton General Hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a range of Upper GI surgical procedures with a high degree of skill and care.
  • Provide expert clinical leadership and guidance to junior surgical staff and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Participate in on‑call rotas, ensuring timely and effective surgical interventions.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of surgical advancements.
  • Contribute to clinical governance, audit, and research activities within the department.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records.
  • Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Completion of higher surgical training in Upper GI Surgery.
  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) or equivalent.
  • Evidence of higher specialist training and experience in Upper GI Surgery.
  • NHS mandatory training completion.
