We are working with Northampton General Hospital to recruit an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist to join their Oncology & Haematology team. This is a highly specialist role delivering a patient-focused clinical pharmacy service across oncology wards, acute assessment units, and outpatient cancer services.
About the Role
- Deliver a specialist clinical pharmacy service to oncology and haematology patients
- Work as a key member of the multidisciplinary team, supporting safe and effective medicines use
- Participate in ward rounds, medicines optimisation, and patient counselling
- Provide expert advice on systemic anti-cancer therapies and complex treatment pathways
- Lead on guidelines, protocols, and medicines governance
- Support ePMA systems and digital prescribing initiatives
- Contribute to service development, audit, and research activity
- Line manage and support the development of pharmacy staff
You will play a key role in ensuring continuity of care from admission through to discharge, supporting patients with complex cancer treatments.
Essential Requirements
- MPharm (or equivalent)
- GPhC registration
- Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy (Diploma/MSc or equivalent)
- Extensive experience in hospital pharmacy, including oncology/haematology
- Strong experience working within multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent clinical knowledge, communication, and leadership skills
Desirable
- Independent Prescriber qualification
- Experience in oncology pharmacy or cancer services
- Membership of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society / BOPA
- Experience in teaching, audit, and service development
- Leadership or management training
