About the Role
We are working in partnership with an NHS service in Salisbury to recruit a Locum Consultant Haematologist to join a well-established and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity to deliver high-quality haematology care across outpatient, inpatient, and diagnostic services, while supporting service improvement and recovery initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Hands-on clinical involvement as a Consultant Haematologist, working closely with other Consultant Haematologists and Associate Specialists and sharing responsibility for all haematology patients.
- Lab work.
- MDT Meetings.
- Oversee and supervise Junior Doctors and mentor when required.
- Transfusion medicine activities including transfusion, team meetings and education sessions for general medical staff.
Registration Essential
- Full GMC registration with Licence to Practise
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via: CCT (or within 6 months at interview), or CESR (must be on Specialist Register at time of application)
Qualifications Essential
- Medical degree
- Relevant postgraduate qualification (MRCP, FRCPath)
Desirable
- MD or equivalent higher degree, or evidence of research in haematology
