We’re recruiting an Acute Medicine Consultant to join a busy, well-supported Acute Medicine service in Swindon, with an ASAP start available. This is a long-term (ongoing) or permanent opportunity, ideal if you’re looking for stability, strong teamworking, and the chance to shape high-quality acute care.
The role
As an Acute Medicine Consultant, you’ll play a key part in delivering safe, timely care for patients presenting acutely, supporting flow, and providing senior clinical leadership across the Acute Medical Unit.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Consultant-led care in AMU / acute take and post-take review
- Rapid assessment and early decision-making to support patient flow
- Supervision and development of junior doctors and the wider MDT
- Participation in service improvement, governance, and teaching
- On-call / rota contribution (tailored depending on contract type)
What we’re looking for
- GMC registration with licence to practise
- CCT in Acute/Internal Medicine (or equivalent) or relevant specialist experience
- Right to work in the UK
- Confident, collaborative consultant with strong acute decision-making skills
