We are working with Northampton General Hospital to recruit a Band 6 Clinical Pharmacist to join their supportive and progressive hospital pharmacy team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your clinical skills across a wide range of specialties, working as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centred care.

About the Role

As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will rotate across a variety of services, including:

  • Ward-based clinical pharmacy (approx. 60%)
  • Dispensary-based services (approx. 20%)
  • Emergency duty and other pharmacy functions (approx. 20%)

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting safe and effective use of medicines across the Trust
  • Participating in ward rounds, medicines reconciliation, and patient counselling
  • Providing clinical advice and medicines optimisation support
  • Contributing to audit, service improvement, and guideline development
  • Supporting dispensary services and medicines supply processes
  • Working collaboratively with medical, nursing, and pharmacy teams

You will gain exposure across multiple specialties including medicine, surgery, critical care, oncology, paediatrics, and medicines information.

Essential Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Pharmacy (MPharm or equivalent)
  • GPhC registration
  • Completion of pre-registration training
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
