A friendly GP practice in Leeds is looking for an experienced and motivated Practice Nurse to join our primary care team. You’ll work closely with GPs and the wider clinical team to deliver high-quality nursing care and support improved outcomes for our patients.
The role includes providing a broad range of clinical nursing services, such as:
- Chronic disease management (e.g., Diabetes, Asthma, COPD, CHD, Hypertension)
- Women’s health: contraception advice, sexual health and screening guidance, menopause support, and cervical cytology
- Wound care and dressings, leg ulcers, Doppler assessments, and suture removal
- ECGs, venepuncture, and relevant health checks
- Travel clinic services
- Routine and childhood immunisations
- Chaperoning and supporting clinicians during examinations when required
- Assisting with minor surgery and coil fittings
- Requesting and handling appropriate tests (e.g., swabs, urine cultures) in line with protocols
- Maintaining clinical rooms and stock (including vaccine ordering and cold chain support)
- Accurate clinical record-keeping, escalating concerns, and supporting safe systems of work
- Attending nurse/practice meetings and contributing to service improvement
- Occasional home visits may be required
- Clinical governance and safety
- Supporting clinical audit and monitoring standards of care
- Working in line with infection prevention and control policies
- Maintaining competence in basic life support (BLS) and anaphylaxis management
