Some leadership roles are about running a service. This one is about helping people continue living the life they love. We're looking for an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead a growing domiciliary care service across Southampton and the surrounding areas. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who believes that exceptional care begins with strong leadership, compassionate teams, and putting people at the centre of everything they do.

You’ll be joining a service committed to delivering flexible, personalised home care that enables people to remain safe, comfortable, and independent in the place they know best — their own home. The organisation prides itself on providing compassionate, tailored care while working closely with families, local authorities, and healthcare professionals to achieve the very best outcomes.

The Heart of the Role

As Registered Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day operation of the domiciliary care service, ensuring every client receives high-quality, person-centred care that promotes dignity, independence, and wellbeing. You’ll inspire and develop a dedicated team of care professionals, creating a positive culture where people feel valued, supported, and motivated to deliver exceptional care every single day.

This is a role for someone who understands that home care is about far more than completing visits. It's about building relationships, reducing loneliness, supporting independence, and helping people continue enjoying life on their own terms.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Your role will combine leadership, compliance, operational management, and business development.
  • Leading the daily operation of the domiciliary care service.
  • Inspiring and developing a team of Care Coordinators, Supervisors, and Care Professionals.
  • Creating a positive culture built around kindness, accountability, and high-quality care.
  • Ensuring every client receives safe, responsive, and personalised support.

Compliance & Quality

  • Maintaining full CQC compliance and regulatory standards.
  • Overseeing safeguarding, audits, care planning, and quality assurance.
  • Ensuring care plans and risk assessments are accurate, regularly reviewed, and tailored to individual needs.
  • Driving continuous improvement across the service.

Team Development

  • Recruiting, mentoring, and developing a compassionate and committed workforce.
  • Conducting supervisions, appraisals, competency assessments, and performance reviews.
  • Supporting staff wellbeing, retention, and professional development.
  • Creating an environment where people feel appreciated and empowered to succeed.

Business Growth & Development

  • Supporting the continued growth of the service across Southampton and surrounding areas.
  • Building strong relationships with local authorities, NHS professionals, commissioners, and private clients.
  • Supporting new care package assessments and successful onboarding.
  • Identifying opportunities to safely increase hours while maintaining outstanding quality.

Operational Responsibilities

  • Managing budgets and service performance.
  • Monitoring KPIs and driving operational excellence.
  • Participating in the on‑call rota as part of the management team.
  • Ensuring excellent communication between clients, families, office staff, and care teams.

What Makes This Service Different

This organisation believes that great care starts with listening. Every care package is tailored around the individual, recognising that everyone has different routines, preferences, goals, and support needs. Whether someone requires companionship, personal care, dementia support, respite care, or more specialist home care, the aim is always the same — helping people maintain their independence while feeling respected, safe, and cared for.

The service also believes that outstanding care can only be delivered by outstanding people. That's why significant emphasis is placed on supporting staff, encouraging development, and creating a culture where everyone feels part of one team working towards the same goal.

Why This Role Matters

Behind every outstanding home care service is a leader who creates confidence, stability, and opportunity. Someone who empowers their team to provide the highest standard of care. Someone who ensures clients remain independent, respected, and supported to live life their way. Your leadership won't simply manage a service. It will help families feel reassured, staff feel inspired, and clients continue living safely and happily in the place they call home.
