As a Care Worker, you will support clients to live independently in their own homes by providing high-quality, person-centred care in line with individual Care Plans. You will work under the guidance of the Care Manager and alongside other healthcare professionals to ensure safety, dignity and wellbeing at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting clients with personal care, including:
    • Getting up, dressing and preparing for the day
    • Bathing, showering, strip washing, oral care and grooming
    • Toileting and use of commodes
    • Assisting clients into bed, including undressing
  • Preparing meals and supporting with food storage and kitchen hygiene
  • Carrying out light household duties, including laundry and general tidying
  • Escorting clients to appointments and social activities
  • Assisting with and administering prescribed medication in line with care plans
  • Supporting clients with household correspondence and bills where required
  • Answering personal telephones and welcoming visitors respectfully
  • Supporting clients with mobility, including the use of manual handling equipment such as hoists and stand aids (following training)
  • Working alongside healthcare professionals such as GPs and District Nurses
  • Keeping accurate records of care visits, including times and mileage
  • Completing clear and detailed care notes at the end of each visit
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and pleasant environment for clients

Essential Qualifications

  • Drivers only – applicants must hold a full UK/EU driving licence
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills
  • Good spoken and written English
  • A caring, compassionate and respectful nature
  • Experience working with the public or in a customer-facing role
  • Ability to follow care plans and company policies
  • Good timekeeping and organisational skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Commitment to confidentiality and data protection
  • Willingness to undertake training and attend monthly team meetings
  • Basic IT/keyboard skills
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience in a caring or domiciliary care environment
  • Knowledge of confidentiality procedures
  • Housekeeping or home-management experience
