To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add an Accountant located in Warrington, UK. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accountant will play a key role in financial reporting, month-end activities, business partnering, compliance, and internal controls. The role is responsible for managing the monthly P&L for a key customer, delivering accurate financial analysis and reporting, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with corporate accounting policies and regulatory requirements.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Manage monthly P&L reporting and financial activities for a key customer.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports and management information.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain financial controls.
  • Conduct variance analysis and review actual results against forecasts.
  • Support month-end close processes and present financial results during business reviews.
  • Prepare VAT reports and support tax-related reporting activities.
  • Coordinate internal and external audit activities.
  • Analyze freight costs, accruals, and other financial performance indicators.
  • Ensure SOX compliance and adherence to internal control requirements.
  • Collaborate with finance and non-finance stakeholders while supporting cross-functional team activities.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • At least 5+ years of strong experience in accounting, finance, and general ledger management.
  • AAT qualification, equivalent experience, or a strong accounting background.
  • Finance or Business degree and/or CIMA/ACCA qualification preferred.
  • Experience with month-end close, financial reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Knowledge of SOX requirements and internal control environments.
  • Experience preparing VAT or other tax-related reports is an advantage.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong IT literacy.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with SAP, BAAN, or other ERP systems would be beneficial.
