We are looking for a Mechanical Supervisor based out of our Hemel Hempstead centre but who will spend most days on sites. Reporting to the local Site Service Manager, this UK‑based role involves significant international travel, including extended assignments across Europe.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and supervise all maintenance and installation works, including equipment dispatched to site.
  • Supervise and coordinate employees and contractors on site.
  • Interconnect LV switchgear.
  • Monitor project progress and provide status reports.
  • Complete certificates and documentation for client handover and testing.
  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders as required.
  • Ensure works are delivered efficiently while maintaining quality, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Implement and promote effective risk management practices.
  • Identify, assess, and control health and safety hazards.
  • Lead QHSE compliance and ensure awareness across all site activities.
  • Conduct site risk assessments and maintain accurate records.
  • Deliver toolbox talks and task briefings.
  • Ensure method statements are communicated, understood, and followed.
  • Verify workforce competence and appropriate training for tasks.
  • Ensure Permit to Work systems are correctly applied.
  • Monitor site activities and intervene promptly to address issues or unsafe practices.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE, tools, and equipment, including safe work at height.
  • Promote site safety, welfare, fire prevention, and report incidents/near misses to the Project Manager.

Experience & Qualification

  • Current SSSTS & UKATA.
  • Asbestos Awareness Certificate.
  • Valid Manual Handling Awareness Certificate.
  • Current and relevant ESC Card.
  • Experience in mechanical installation of switchgear and in a supervisor role.
  • Self‑motivated, enthusiastic and conscientious with a high standard of attention to detail.
  • Ability to work accurately to deadlines in a busy and pressurised environment and demonstrate flexibility.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
