FlexMedical Solutions helps customers bring ideas to life and create a healthier tomorrow by providing contract design, development and manufacturing services to medical device OEMs, with a particular focus on point-of-care in-vitro diagnostics (POC IVD) from their state-of-the-art facility in Livingston.
With continued investment in new capabilities and customer programmes, we are seeking an R&D Scientist I to join the tight knit development team and play an active role in delivering next-generation diagnostic technologies. As a qualified scientist, you will bring hands-on laboratory experience and a strong scientific foundation, with exposure to reagent formulation and assay development. You will be involved in both customer projects and internal R&D programmes, gaining broad experience across the full development lifecycle in a regulated environment. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to accelerate their industry career in a high-growth, highly collaborative CDMO environment.
Key Responsibilities- Build reagents and formulate solutions to defined specifications
- Execute experimental plans and generate high-quality technical reports
- Develop electrochemical or other assay methods for development programmes
- Support reagent deposition and sensor build processes
- Maintain laboratory chemicals and reagents in line with H&S and GLP requirements
- Provide scientific input into product and process development
- Degree qualified in a relevant scientific discipline
- Practical laboratory experience (industry or strong academic research)
- Understanding of IVD detection methods or electrochemical techniques
- Familiar with GxP / regulated working practices
- Strong data handling, analysis and communication skills
