About the Role
This position is responsible for managing all financial aspects of multiple businesses across two legal entities from the Coesia Group. Developing, implementing, and maintaining financial plans and policies to ensure the timely production of accounts in line with Group and UK Accounting Rules and Regulations. In this role you are a member of the senior management team and you will provide support to the other managers. You’ll have assistant accountants reporting to you so managerial experience is advantageous.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage the preparation of the multiple business budgets.
- Manage the preparation of cash flow forecasts to predict expenditure and future trends.
- Maintain accurate spending records and establish effective budgetary controls.
- Analyse and improve financial processes to reduce risk and increase efficiency.
- Manage and oversee company accounts, conducting reviews and evaluations for cost reduction.
- Ensure all transactional, payroll, Insurance and VAT / taxation requirements are met.
- Produce and process tax and income tax returns.
- Managing Group Tax Compliance reporting.
- Prepare and produce reports in line with statutory regulations on a monthly and annual basis, ensuring compliance with all applicable government regulations, professional standards, and organisational policies.
- Manage, prepare monthly management accounts and analysis for multiple businesses through various reporting mediums.
- Attendance and presentation of business results to central business managers.
- Prepare for and support external and internal audits to ensure full compliance.
- Liaise with auditors to ensure annual monitoring is completed effectively.
- Liaise with Company Defined Benefit Pension Trustees to facilitate the management of the 2 pension schemes.
- Provide guidance and leadership to the Finance team to ensure adherence to financial processes and standards.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Qualification as an Accountant from a recognised professional body.
- At least 3-5 years’ experience independently preparing annual accounts and forecasts within a medium-sized organisation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and active listening abilities.
- Flexibility and a proactive approach to change.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated leadership and team development skills.
- Experience within the industrial or manufacturing sector is an advantage.
- Experience working in a matrix organization.
