Flexjet, an award-winning organization, is looking to add a talented Avionics Installation Technician to our team!

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting in the removal/installation and setup of avionics electrical components, fabrication of wire harnesses, installations, terminations, and ring-out.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assists in installations, modifications, and the fabrication of wiring and electrical components, fixtures, and associated equipment in accordance with wire schematics, work instructions, and engineering drawings.
  • Specific tasks may include:
    • Marking the wires using a laser wire labelling machine;
    • Sorting, combing and tying wires into specific bundles;
    • Installing clamps, tie-wraps and associated hardware;
    • Terminating wires with appropriate pins and connectors;
    • Perform checks to ensure wires are accounted for and correctly connected in accordance with applicable released wiring diagram.

Maintains required logs and records. Completes tasks within allotted time frame. Reports any issues/concerns to Crew Leader/Manager in a timely fashion. Ensures that work completed meets applicable regulatory requirements, customer specifications, relevant policies and procedures. Checks all work and ensures a defective free assembly prior to final inspection. Complies with the company FOD program, tool control program, and all internal administration, quality and safety policies and procedures. Maintains a neat and orderly work area. Properly care for and maintain shop equipment and tools. Performs Aircraft Incoming and Delivery Inspections for Cabin Management Systems. Performs other duties as assigned by Crew Leader/Management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of secondary school is required.
  • Completion of College/CEGEP/vocational/technical training in avionics is an asset.
  • Minimum of 3 years of basic electrical/electronic experience or completion of College/CEGEP in electrical techniques.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and work instructions.
  • Knowledge of software loading for Cabin Management and System Configuration.
  • Ability to set-up handheld devices and operating systems.
  • Ability to understand and follow direction with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, where tasks may be shared or reallocated daily.
  • Good mobility, manual dexterity and physical condition to work in areas within the aircraft where access may be limited.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively orally and written.
  • Ability to trouble-shoot and problem-solve.
  • Ability to maintain professional work habits at all times.
  • Excellent planning, organization and coordination skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.

COMPENSATION: Hourly: $31.23/Hr. We offer competitive compensation including 6% RRSP matching, 10% deferred compensation, second-shift premium, and Health/Medical/Dental/Life benefits to qualified and highly motivated candidates.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Regular periods during which there is continuous physical effort required, e.g., walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward. Exposure to factors such as temperature variations, fumes, moving machinery, humidity, noise, and materials which cause periods of discomfort. Regular need to give concentrated close attention, with one or two senses at a time, where stimuli are changing. Noticeable pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy or similar demands. Work in confined spaces and elevated heights when required.
