Flexjet, an award-winning organization, is currently looking for an Aircraft Paint Technicians to join our team!
POSITION SUMMARY:
To safely and efficiently prepare and prime aircraft for exterior paint and coating application in accordance with customer and project specifications as well as industry regulations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Report to your workstation for your regularly scheduled shift(s) prior to your start time.
- Meet with department Crew Lead to receive daily activity assignment:
- Ask questions to obtain clarity on Crew Leads expectations (quality & timing)
- Complete assigned work in compliance with training received and continuous instruction from your Crew Lead, in accordance with Transport Canada and Federal Aviation Administration guidelines
- When task is complete, have your Crew Lead sign off and accept the next task.
- If your Crew Lead states that the job is incomplete or does not meet quality requirements; inquire what Flexjet expectations are and which specific area(s) require rework. Ask for clarification to ensure understanding.
- Ensure to report to your assigned workstation for your regularly scheduled shift prior to your start time and respect the start & stop times of scheduled breaks.
- Maintain professional work habits at all times.
- Preparation of Aircraft for Paint in accordance with the standard procedures, including but not limiting to masking, washing and sanding.
- Painting of Aircraft in accordance with stand procedures, including but not limiting to mix, blend and match paint.
- Performance of internal quality inspections during each phase of the paint activity
- Support the completion of required documentation in accordance with AS9100 standards
- Properly care for and maintain shop equipment and tools.
- Measure, weigh, or mix cleaning solutions, using measuring tanks, calibrated rods or suction tubes.
- Follow standard operating procedures where PPE (personal protective equipment) is required and when using tools and equipment such as dual action sanders and hydraulic lift platforms.
- Follow standard operating procedures when using sealants, paint strippers, and corrosion-preventive chemicals and use protective equipment as required.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Completion of secondary school is required.
- Ideally 3 years of transferable skills (Bus, Boat, Auto Painting, Bodywork or Paint Preparation experience).
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Good mobility, manual dexterity and physical condition to work in areas on and around the aircraft where access may be limited.
- Ability to maintain professional work habits at all times.
- Able to understand and follow direction with minimal supervision
- Proven ability to communicate effectively orally and written
- Ability to trouble-shoot and problem solve
- Able to work both independently and within team environment, tasks may be shared or reallocated daily.
- Must have flexibility to adapt to changing demands and schedules, including needs of the organization.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to maintain effective relationships.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
WORKING HOURS:
This is a full-time (FT) position where hours will change due to business operational needs and flexibility is required.
The current shift structure is as follows:
Day Shift:
Mon-Thu 4x10hr shifts (6am-5pm)
Night Shift:
Mon-Thu 4x10hr shifts (8pm-7am starting Monday evening and finishing Friday morning).
Weekend Shift:
Fri-Mon 4x10hr shifts (6am-5pm).
COMPENSATION:
Hourly: $31.23

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Regular periods during which physical effort is required, e.g., walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
- Exposure to factors such as temperature variations/extremes, fumes, moving machinery, humidity, and materials which can cause periods of discomfort.
- Work involves repetitive, hands-on tasks requiring sustained physical effort and manual dexterity.
- Able to lift and transport up to 40 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation
- Able to wear protective equipment for extended periods of time including particle masks, goggles, assorted gloves, head bonnets, and disposable protective suits.
- Frequent need to give concentrated attention, with one or two senses at a time, where stimuli are changing.
- Occasional direct and indirect pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy or similar demands.
- There is modest pressure from deadlines or other productivity standards. Work can be somewhat repetitious.
