The Senior Operations Controller / Senior Flight Dispatcher is responsible for overseeing the daily and future operations and coordinating with each of the operations departments as needed to ensure the safe operation of every flight while providing the best possible service to our owners. This position involves proactively planning and anticipating for the operational needs of the company, works with all departments in operations and reports directly to the operations manager.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the daily operation (demand, uncovered trips, delays).
- Coordinate with the maintenance department concerning scheduled and unscheduled MX events and MEL restrictions on aircraft.
- Monitor all functions within Operations, identify potential problems that could cause disservice and provide solutions to minimize any delays.
- Manage Handling, overflight permits and services coordination related to a flight.
- Assist owner services and commercial services team on technical matters, trip support, and Flight Feasibility Checks.
- Flight Planning according to Operations Manual, procedures and regulations, considering safety amongst all.
- Flight following/in flight assistance of flight crews, including analyzing and evaluating meteorological conditions, aeronautical charts, ATS monitoring and route optimization.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Operations Manager.
- Evaluate and initiate ERP in accordance with company policy.
Education & Experience
- Must possess the legal ability to work in the United Kingdom.
- Bachelor’s Degree, in business or an aviation related field preferred; experience within an aviation environment preferably Business Aviation; previous years of supervisory experience; knowledge of fractional operations; equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Have a strong understanding of International Operations, worldwide flight planning incl. EROPS.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel, & Outlook).
- Scheduling experience or experience in transport and logistic department is an advantage.
- Dispatch License highly desirable.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Must possess the legal ability to work in the United Kingdom.
- Candidate should work well in a fast-paced environment and be flexible to the changing needs of the business.
- Must be detail oriented and able to work productively, independently or within a team.
- Excellent oral/written communication and problem resolution skills are required.
- Further language skills are an advantage.
- Successful candidate will maintain a high level of professionalism while multi-tasking various real time issues in a fast paced environment.
- Must have excellent analytical skills.
