We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Multi-Skilled Engineer (Mechanical Biased) to join our team at our Dunstable-based manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on role responsible for both reactive and proactive maintenance, supporting production and ensuring minimal downtime. Shift Pattern: * Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday * Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday * Hours: 06:00–18:00 (Days) and 18:00–06:00 (Nights), rotating every 2 weeks Key Responsibilities: * Provide engineering support for all production, processing, and packaging machinery. * Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical breakdowns efficiently. * Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across site machinery and equipment. * Dismantle and reassemble production equipment as required. * Carry out maintenance work to the highest food safety and hygiene standards. * Assist in continuous improvement projects related to equipment performance and reliability. * Install new equipment and modify existing systems/structures. * Respond to emergency call-outs outside of normal working hours. * Ensure all work adheres to site safety and compliance protocols. Requirements: * City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 or higher in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering. * Proven experience in a similar role within Food, FMCG, or Production environments. * Competent with pumps, sensors, motors, gearboxes, PLCs, as well as pneumatic and hydraulic systems. * Basic mechanical fitting/fabrication skills; welding and plumbing experience is desirable. * Physically fit and capable of working at height. * A positive, team-focused attitude and ability to work independently. * Calm under pressure with strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills. * Flexible and available for emergency call-outs.
