We are recruiting for a Service Advisor to join a busy, modern independent garage in Northampton. This is a great opportunity to join a business that stands out from the norm. The garage is modern, well-presented and professionally run, with a strong local reputation and a workshop environment that reflects real investment in both equipment and standards. This is not a small, tired operation - it is a well-organised independent garage with a steady flow of work and a genuine focus on customer service.

This role will suit either an experienced Service Advisor or someone from the motor trade with strong customer-facing skills who is looking to develop further in a front‑of‑house position. The key is being organised, professional and confident dealing with customers while keeping things running smoothly between the front desk and workshop.

The role will involve:

  • Greeting customers professionally and creating a positive first impression
  • Booking vehicles in and out of the workshop
  • Scheduling appointments and helping manage daily workshop flow
  • Liaising with technicians to keep track of work in progress
  • Updating customers clearly on repairs, servicing and timescales
  • Preparing estimates and discussing recommended work with customers
  • Identifying additional service or repair requirements where appropriate
  • Making sure customers receive a professional and well‑managed experience throughout

We are looking for:

  • Previous experience as a Service Advisor, or a customer‑focused background within the motor trade
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Good organisation and the ability to manage a busy workload
  • Confidence dealing with customers in a professional way
  • Automotive or mechanical knowledge would be an advantage
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn

What is on offer:

  • £28,000-£35,000 salary depending on experience
  • Monday to Friday hours only
  • A modern, professional independent garage environment
  • Varied day‑to‑day work in a busy role
  • Ongoing training and development
  • The chance to join a growing business with a strong local reputation

If you are looking for a Service Advisor opportunity within a modern independent garage that takes pride in both its standards and customer experience, we would love to hear from you.
