The Opportunity
Pencil and Brick is seeking a Senior Project Architect to join its growing architectural team. This role will suit an experienced ARB‑registered Architect who enjoys taking ownership of projects from concept through delivery, while mentoring junior team members and contributing to the wider development of a design‑led practice. You will manage multiple residential projects simultaneously, working closely with the Design Team Lead and construction teams to deliver exceptional private residential schemes. This is a long‑term career opportunity with clear progression into senior leadership and director‑level positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and delivering multiple architectural projects day‑to‑day
- Coordinating design stages from concept through technical delivery
- Preparing planning and building regulation submissions
- Producing technical drawings, specifications and presentation material
- Supporting construction teams with technical design input
- Leading client interactions and managing project experience
- Mentoring and supporting junior architectural staff
- Collaborating with senior management to improve processes and delivery
Requirements
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- ARB registration with minimum 5 years post‑registration UK practice experience
- Strong private residential project experience
- Ability to manage projects independently
- Excellent technical and design coordination skills
- Strong communication and client‑facing ability
- Alignment with Pencil and Bricks collaborative, values‑led culture
- Experience leading small design teams
- Vectorworks experience (or willingness to learn)
- Experience delivering architect‑led residential projects end‑to‑end
- Comfortable working primarily from the Brick Lane studio (Friday WFH policy)
