The Role

We are recruiting on behalf of an established construction and property maintenance contractor that delivers refurbishment and maintenance services across London, Kent and the South East.

Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Multi-Skilled Tradesperson with a strong carpentry and plumbing background to join their team.

The work involves residential properties with a mixture of kitchen and bathroom installations, void refurbishments, planned maintenance and general property repairs.

The work will take place across both occupied and vacant properties, so you will need to be comfortable working independently, dealing professionally with residents and completing work to a consistently high standard.

This role would suit an experienced multi-trader, carpenter or plumber who is confident completing several stages of a job without needing another trade for every task.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out kitchen and bathroom installations and refurbishment works
  • Fitting kitchen units, worktops, doors, skirting boards and architraves
  • Completing first and second-fix carpentry
  • Installing and replacing sinks, taps, toilets, baths and showers
  • Carrying out general plumbing repairs and basic fault finding
  • Removing and replacing damaged fixtures and fittings
  • Completing minor tiling, patch plastering and decorating where required
  • Carrying out repairs within occupied and vacant residential properties
  • Identifying and accurately reporting any additional works required
  • Completing job sheets, photographs and relevant paperwork
  • Keeping residents and clients informed while work is being completed
  • Ensuring properties are left clean, tidy and safe
  • Completing work correctly and to a high standard first time
  • Following company health and safety procedures

The Ideal Candidate

  • Strong practical experience across carpentry and plumbing
  • Previous experience installing or refurbishing kitchens and bathrooms
  • Confident carrying out a broad range of property maintenance tasks
  • Able to work independently and manage a daily workload
  • Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Professional and respectful when working in occupied homes
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
  • Full UK driving licence

Previous experience within social housing, housing association properties, MOD accommodation, local authority contracts or residential property maintenance would be beneficial.
