Flexible HR Solutions is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable EDI (Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) Officer for their client based in Wolverhampton. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring EDI strategies and initiatives within client organisations. You will work closely with leadership teams to promote and maintain a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment, ensuring that all employees feel respected and valued. The EDI Officer will help shape inclusive policies, provide training and support, and drive meaningful change by addressing inequalities within the workplace. Key Responsibilities:

  • EDI Strategy Development: Lead the development and implementation of EDI policies and strategies in line with client objectives. Work with leadership to embed EDI principles in all aspects of HR processes, including recruitment, performance management, and workplace culture. Conduct audits and assessments to identify gaps in EDI practices and suggest improvements.
  • Training and Development: Design and deliver EDI training programs for employees, managers, and leadership teams. Facilitate workshops, webinars, and one-on-one training sessions to promote awareness and understanding of diversity, inclusion, and equity in the workplace. Support the integration of EDI into broader learning and development programs.
  • Policy Development and Monitoring: Develop and review policies to ensure compliance with EDI best practices and legal requirements. Monitor the effectiveness of EDI policies and practices through data collection, analysis, and reporting. Advise on inclusive recruitment practices, workplace adjustments, and flexible working arrangements.
  • Employee Engagement and Advocacy: Serve as a point of contact for employees seeking guidance or support on EDI-related issues. Lead EDI advocacy efforts, fostering an inclusive environment where all voices are heard. Facilitate focus groups and discussions to gather employee feedback and address concerns related to diversity and inclusion.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with HR and management teams to align EDI initiatives with overall business goals. Communicate the benefits of an inclusive culture and work environment, highlighting the positive impacts on productivity, employee retention, and organisational growth.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant equality and diversity legislation, including the UK Equality Act 2010. Produce regular reports on EDI initiatives and progress, sharing insights with key stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a similar role, focused on EDI, HR, or organisational development (minimum 2-3 years preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of EDI principles and best practices.
  • Understanding of equality and diversity legislation and how it applies to the workplace.
  • Experience in designing and delivering training, workshops, and presentations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to analyse data and produce meaningful insights and recommendations.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Desirable:

  • CIPD qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience in HR consulting or working within a consultancy firm.
