Flexible Workforce Solutions is pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Sous Chef to join the opening team of a brand-new all-day dining venue in St Andrews. This concept will offer relaxed, quality café-style dishes during the day, evolving into a more refined, neighbourhood-style dining experience in the evening. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established hospitality group at the launch stage and help set the tone for a modern, welcoming venue with a strong food identity.
The Role
As Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to deliver high-quality food across both daytime and evening services. You will be central to building the kitchen culture, developing menus, and ensuring the smooth running of a busy, ambitious operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef in leading, developing, and motivating the kitchen team
- Oversee daily service and ensure consistently high culinary standards
- Contribute to menu development, seasonal ideas, and kitchen innovation
- Maintain strong food safety, hygiene, and operational standards
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and managing kitchen costs
- Take responsibility for the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence
About You
- Experience as a Sous Chef, or a confident Junior Sous ready to progress
- Genuine passion for fresh, seasonal, flavour-led cooking
- Ability to work across both relaxed daytime service and more elevated evening dining
