Flexible People are seeking a number of reliable and professional Class 2 HGV Drivers to join a busy and well-established logistics operation, based in Reading. This is a Monday to Friday role offering consistent hours and competitive pay. The start times are anywhere between 04:00 - 07:00 - all shifts are approximately 10-hours long. The pay rate is £19.32 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay).
About the Role
As a driver, you will play a key role in delivering excellent service to customers while ensuring efficient and compliant transport operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and collect laundry and linen between the depot and customer sites
- Act as a professional Service Ambassador, providing excellent customer service
- Accurately record deliveries and collections using a PDA or route manifest
- Ensure compliance with all road transport legislation and company procedures
- Carry out daily and weekly vehicle checks, reporting any defects
- Load and unload cages, including handling clean and soiled (bagged) linen
- Maintain safety and security of vehicles, goods, and third parties at all times
- Follow allocated delivery routes and schedules efficiently
- Report customer queries and feedback using the correct processes
- Attend driver debriefs and communicate any updates or opportunities
Requirements
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) License
- Up-to-date Driver CPC
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- No more than 6 penalty points on licence
- Good understanding of commercial transport legislation
- Previous experience in a professional logistics environment
