We are currently recruiting HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to join one of the largest supermarket contracts in the UK. This Class 1 Driver role involves driving articulated vehicles (Class 1 / C+E), completing a variety of deliveries including Tesco store deliveries, manual handling of cages to the store floor, 10-12 hour shifts, no nights out. You will be based out of the Goole site, DN14 8GA. Please ensure you're able to commute to this address and have access to your own vehicle.

Our onboarding process is an initial assessment with one of our Driver Reps, 3-4 hours long and paid if the applicant passes. A mixture of single drop & multi-drop deliveries, mixture of trailers, 8, 10 & 13 metre curtains / box trailers, Double Deckers (moving floor training will be provided before ever given one). We have scattered start times available, ranging from 12.00pm up until midnight.

Please read carefully the pay rates below as they vary on different shift patterns:

  • Monday - Friday (Weeknight PM/Night shift) - £19 Per Hour (including holiday)
  • Saturday - £22 Per Hour (including holiday)
  • Sunday - £24 Per Hour (including holiday)
  • Bank Holiday - £24 Per Hour (including holiday)

These rates are for any shift that starts after 12.00pm. Class 1 Drivers must follow strict drivers’ hours and Working Time Directive (WTD) regulations and carry out full vehicle safety checks.

Class 1 Driver Requirements:

  • Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence
  • DCPC and Digital Tacho Card
  • Good understanding of drivers’ hours and WTD legislation
  • Ability to complete vehicle checks and report defects correctly
  • Comply with on-site health & safety procedures
  • Strong communication skills

You must have a valid UK License, no more than 6 points on your driving license. No DD, DR or NI convictions.
