Flexible People Ltd are currently recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers - Nights to join a prestigious and well-established distribution contract based in Rugby (CV23). This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver - Nights looking for ongoing work, competitive rates of pay and regular shifts with one of the UK's leading logistics operations.
As an HGV Class 1 Driver - Nights, you will be driving modern Class 1 (C+E) articulated vehicles, completing store deliveries, carrying out daily vehicle checks and ensuring deliveries are completed safely and professionally. Please ensure you can commute to the Rugby (CV23) depot and have access to your own transport.
Pay Rates
- Monday-Friday (PM starts after 12:00pm): £19.00 per hour (Including Holiday Pay)
- Saturday: £21.99 per hour (Including Holiday Pay)
- Sunday: £24.30 per hour (Including Holiday Pay)
HGV Class 1 Driver - Nights Duties
- Driving HGV Class 1 (C+E) articulated vehicles.
- Completing a mixture of single-drop and multi-drop deliveries.
- Manual handling of cages where required.
- Working 10-12 hour shifts. No nights out.
- Operating a variety of trailers including 8m, 10m and 13m curtainsiders, box trailers and double deck trailers.
- Full moving floor training provided before operating double deck trailers.
- Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and reporting defects.
- Following Drivers' Hours, Working Time Directive (WTD) and all health & safety procedures.
Shift Information
We have a variety of afternoon and evening start times available, offering flexibility and regular ongoing work.
Driver Assessment
- All successful applicants will complete an initial driver assessment with one of our Driver Representatives.
- 3-4 hour assessment
- Paid upon successful completion
HGV Class 1 Driver Requirements
- Valid UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence
- Valid Driver CPC
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Good understanding of Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive regulations
- Ability to complete daily vehicle safety inspections
- Strong communication skills
- Reliable, professional and safety-focused approach
- Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points. Unfortunately, we cannot accept DD, DR or IN endorsements.
