Flexible People are seeking an administrator to join one of our prestigious clients in Bridgwater. This position is full time Monday-Friday. The times are 10:00 am - 19:00 pm. The rate of pay is £12.57 per hour.

Job Purpose: To provide efficient administrative support to the transport department, ensuring the smooth and compliant operation of day-to-day logistics. The role involves coordinating documentation, maintaining transport records, liaising with drivers and third-party providers, and assisting with scheduling and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and scheduling transport operations, including route planning and vehicle allocation.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, MOTs, insurance, and service schedules.
  • Manage driver paperwork such as timesheets, delivery notes, tachographs, and logbooks.
  • Communicate with drivers to provide schedules, updates, and respond to queries.
  • Liaise with external suppliers, couriers, and freight companies to track deliveries and resolve issues.
  • Ensure compliance with transport legislation and company policies.
  • Update and manage transport management systems (TMS) and spreadsheets.
  • Support with incident reporting and insurance claims.
  • Monitor fuel usage, mileage logs, and maintenance costs.
  • Prepare reports for transport performance, KPIs, and cost tracking.
  • Provide general administrative support including filing, emails, and data entry.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably within transport or logistics.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of transport compliance and legislation is desirable.
  • Experience with Transport Management Systems (TMS) is a plus.
