As our Music Teacher - Level 1, you will plan and deliver engaging Music lessons that encourage pupils to develop their musical knowledge, practical skills, creativity and confidence. Working with small class sizes, you will adapt your teaching to meet the individual needs and starting points of pupils, many of whom may require additional support to overcome barriers to learning. You will create a positive and inclusive learning environment where pupils are encouraged to participate, develop their abilities and take pride in their achievements., You will:
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and accessible Music lessons for secondary-aged pupils.
- Adapt teaching to meet individual needs, including pupils with SEND and SEMH needs.
- Develop pupils' musical knowledge, practical skills, creativity and confidence.
- Assess, monitor and record pupil progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment with effective behaviour management.
- Maintain appropriate pupil records and work collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals.
- Support pupils working towards relevant Music qualifications or accredited outcomes, where applicable.
- Follow school policies and uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection.
Requirements
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Music Teacher - Level 1 who is passionate about inspiring young people through music, creativity, performance and self-expression.
- A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, DET, Cert Ed or equivalent).
- A degree or relevant qualification in Music or a related subject.
- Experience of teaching Music to secondary-aged pupils.
- Good musical knowledge and practical skills.
- The ability to plan, differentiate and deliver engaging lessons for pupils with a range of needs.
- Effective classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Strong communication, organisation and teamwork skills.
- A positive, flexible approach and a strong commitment to safeguarding and improving outcomes for young people.
