The Senior System Engineer will serve as the main technical resource for deployment readiness efforts on key data center use case solutions during their initial period with the company. Eventually, the role will transition to provide SME data center solution expertise during the project execution phase of an energy storage system project. From the design, integration, and commissioning phases of the project, the engineer will act as the bridge between FlexGen HybridOS controls, the project’s assets, and the rest of the data center energy generation assets. It is critical for the Senior System Engineer to operate with a high degree of self-sufficiency and take ownership of a wide range of engineering and project issues. To ensure successful project outcomes, they should fill the gap between engineering, software integration, and project execution.

  • Develop and maintain a risk-based engineering roadmap addressing solution technical risks and schedule & regulatory risks.
  • Guide customer and EPC technical teams to ensure site design compatibility with FlexGen’s software and project hardware.
  • Review and provide feedback on electrical single-line diagrams, layouts, conduit plans, and points lists.
  • Create communication network diagrams, control narratives, and test plans to ensure project control and telemetry requirements are met.
  • Drive technical issues in coordination meetings with customers, utilities, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of system integration issues during commissioning.
  • Translate project functional requirements into software and control configurations that align with FlexGen HybridOS platform.
  • Serve as a liaison between industry requirements and HybridOS capabilities, collaborating with the technology team to inform HybridOS features.
  • Manage the vendor on major equipment specifications and qualification.
  • Understand and support communication protocols (Modbus TCP/IP, DNP3) to ensure proper communication and control capabilities between different entities.
