The Proposal Manager is responsible for the commercial management of battery energy storage system (BESS) proposals that are presented by customers on a daily basis. This role works closely with teams including application engineering, business development, procurement, and other specialized services to ensure that the proposal is developed within the Customer's Request for Proposal (RFP) guidelines and specifications while maintaining continuity with our company's strategy and standards. The Proposal Manager oversees all aspects of proposals including pricing, commercial questions, and documentation, and maintains sales team communications and relationships. The position reports to the Senior Proposal Manager and other senior management personnel the company may designate.
Major Job Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and support development of integrated, enterprise-wide sales proposals and initiatives.
- Oversee all activities involved in the drafting and document preparation of Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Qualifications (RFQ), and Requests for Proposals (RFP) to clients and prospects, including proposals and qualification packages.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and complete all projects by customer-designated bid dates.
- Collaborate and lead engagements with the business development team and application engineering team to produce proposals to clients.
- Coordinate development and production of materials with technical staff for proposal and executive report presentations as needed.
- Strategize and document proposals and pipeline in Salesforce.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in related field (Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related).
- A minimum of 3-5 years of proposal management or similar experience.
- Strong written and editorial skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a commitment to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Knowledge in BESS, Energy, or similar field is a plus.
- Capability to work non-traditional hours to accommodate workload and delivery of deadline-driven proposals.
This is a temporary role with the opportunity for permanent conversion based on performance and business needs.
