The Compensation Planner is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing sales compensation plans that align with organizational goals. This role ensures accurate quota-setting, incentive calculations, and compliance with governance policies while providing actionable insights to optimize compensation strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan Design & Implementation: Develop and maintain sales compensation plans that motivate performance and align with business objectives. Translate high-level compensation frameworks into actionable quota files and compensation letters for sales teams.
  • Quota & Incentive Management: Support annual and quarterly quota-setting processes. Validate incentive calculations and oversee commission deliverables for timely and accurate payouts.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze sales performance data to assess plan effectiveness. Prepare reports and dashboards for leadership on attainment, payouts, and trends.
  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure adherence to audit requirements and governance policies. Maintain accurate documentation of plan rules, eligibility criteria, and payout structures.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Revenue Operations, Finance, and HR to ensure smooth execution of compensation processes. Communicate plan details and provide training to stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • 4–6 years of experience in sales compensation planning or sales operations.
  • Advanced analytical skills with expertise in Excel and financial modeling.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and incentive management platforms (e.g., Xactly).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
