About the Role
FlexEnable is seeking a Process Engineer to support the Process Team. This role sits within the Engineering Team and plays a critical part in driving yield improvement and process stability in a challenging R&D cleanroom environment. The successful candidate will be able to develop and independently carry out projects to optimise current deposition and patterning processes, monitor yield, and communicate findings and recommendations to a wide range of stakeholders, from senior management to process operations technicians. This is a hands‑on production-facing role, operating as a key member of the process team proactively driving improvements to quality, suitable for someone who thrives on cross‑disciplinary collaboration to solve engineering problems and delivering into high‑pressure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Process Control: Define process control limits and implement yield‑tracking using control charts and other tools. Respond to and report deviations from established control limits.
- Problem Solving and Root‑Cause Analysis: Contribute to root‑cause analysis of front‑end processes and regularly report findings. Identify key issues and propose/implement solutions.
- Scale‑up and Manufacturing Support: Be a key technical contributor to the activities of the Process Team, providing technical insight and support to the wider team. Work in partnership with the Operations and Tech Transfer teams to ensure processes can be implemented in both R&D and production.
- Process Development: Lead structured projects targeting measurable yield gains and performance improvements from materials, processes and equipment.
- Quality & Documentation: Maintain accurate technical records and contribute to documentation supporting quality control, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Health, Safety & Compliance: Operate in accordance with laboratory and manufacturing safety standards, proactively contributing to a strong safety culture.
Candidate Profile
- Qualifications: Degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related discipline. At least two years’ experience within the flat‑panel display, semiconductor or related industries in small scale research or production cleanroom.
- Technical Experience: Hands‑on experience applying SPC tools (e.g. control charts, Cpk analysis) in a production environment. Recognised practical photolithography and patterning skills with specific tool experience, preferable at lab and production scale. A broad engineering background with experience in electronics or display fabrication cleanrooms. Working knowledge of polymer materials and deposition of metal films.
- Skills: Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills, with a structured, data‑driven approach. Ability to design and interpret experiments. Good working knowledge of quality standards and continuous improvement practices. Proficient in technical documentation and data handling (e.g., MS Office tools, JMP, etc.). Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Personal Attributes: Proactive, hands‑on, and results oriented, with the tenacity to resolve ongoing technical issues. Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, evolving technology environment. Collaborative team player with the ability to work across disciplines. High level of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail. Strong commitment to health, safety, and quality standards.
