HEALTH AND SAFETY OFFICER, EUROPE
LOCATION: Glenrothes
WORKING HOURS: 40 hours, Monday – Friday
- EDUCATION: NEBOSH National General certificate trained or equivalent.
- EXPERIENCE: Relevant experience in a similar role within a manufacturing maintenance environment
Duties and responsibilities
- Ensuring the organisation complies with all relevant UK and NL Health and safety legislation (e.g. Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, COSHH, PUWER, LOLER, RIDDOR , Preventie Werk)
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance is being maintained.
- Review existing and assist in generating Risk Assessments
- Maintain accurate records of inspection, incidents and training
- Communicate and liaise with staff on health, safety and wellbeing matters.
- To be responsible for recording and acknowledging any health & safety queries or concerns, tracking and monitoring progress against actions.
- Create and analyse health & safety reports as required.
- Being a key member of the businesses team with the aim of striving to improve health and safety culture, standards, and performance.
- Deliver health and safety inductions and toolbox talks.
- Support in reviewing, recommending and upgrading emergency procedures, including fire and first aid.
- Assist in the investigation of accidents, near misses and incidents, identifying root causes.
- Provide advice to managers and employees on legal obligations and best practices
What you will have
Greater than 2 years\’ experience in a health and safety function/manufacturing environment.
Primary job qualifications include a good knowledge and the application of Health and Safety law, standards (ISO45001)/guidelines (HSG65) and best practises.
Detail-oriented, with good organisational, teamwork, and time management skills.
Demonstrated ability to undertake training programmes in occupational hazards
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all business levels
