Role Overview
The Management Accountant plays a key role in providing financial insight and reporting to support business decision‑making. The role focuses on preparation of the monthly management accounts, performance analysis, and management reporting to help the organization achieve its strategic and financial objectives.
What you’ll be doing
- Reporting & Business Support
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis against budget and forecasts
- Produce accurate and timely financial reports for internal stakeholders
- Provide financial support and guidance to non‑finance managers
- Month‑End & Controls
- Control month‑end close processes, including accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations to ensure efficient, timely and accurate
- Management of Balance Sheet controls and reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and accounting policies
- Assist with audits and ad‑hoc financial reviews as required
- Cost Control & Performance Management
- Monitor costs
- Develop and track KPIs to measure operational and financial performance
- Systems & Process Improvement
- Maintain and improve financial models, reporting tools, and processes
- Support finance transformation initiatives and system enhancements
- Drive continuous improvement in reporting accuracy, efficiency, and insight
What you’ll have
- Strong numerical skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to interpret financial data and communicate insights clearly
- Forward planner, ensuring deadlines are met
- Strong Excel and financial modelling capability
- Experience with ERP and financial reporting systems
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Qualifications & Experience
- Part‑qualified or qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent)
- Solid understanding of accounting standards and management reporting
