Anord Mardix, a Flex company, are a global group that manufactures switchgear and associated products for installation in mission-critical and live commercial buildings ranging from data centres to the international headquarters of some of the world’s largest companies.

Anord Mardix has an exciting opportunity for a Head of Supply Chain – UK , based in Kendal. The role oversees the supply chain strategy including tactical buying, logistics, warehousing, and operations to maximize efficiency and productivity.

What a typical day looks like:

  1. Ensure the supply chain structure is adequate to service business and customer needs in all operational situations.
  2. Drive and control the overall supply chain process with a focus on productivity and continuous improvement, monitoring KPIs.
  3. Forecast collaboratively to optimize reliability.
  4. Lead procurement of logistics infrastructure, equipment, and services.
  5. Analyze data to reduce cycle times and improve efficiency.
  6. Update supply chain practices in line with environmental policies and regulations.
  7. Optimize transportation routes and warehouse strategies.
  8. Diagram supply chain models for customer discussions.
  9. Develop material cost forecasts and standard costs.
  10. Assess equipment needs and staffing for material handling.
  11. Evaluate vendor capabilities through site visits.
  12. Negotiate with suppliers and freight forwarders.
  13. Monitor supplier performance.
  14. Review forecasts and quotas.
  15. Manage new project integration into supply planning.
  16. Align production, resources, and inventory with financial goals.
  17. Propose resource and cost optimization methods.
  18. Lead budget reviews and supply meetings.
  19. Report on business performance against KPIs.
  20. Ensure procedures are fit for purpose and best practice.
  21. Lead and develop the supply chain team.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Degree in business or engineering with 8+ years in project management and supply chain.
  • Proven success in continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Experience in manufacturing/supply chain businesses over £150m.
  • International and domestic experience in demanding roles.
  • Strong relationship-building skills at senior levels.
  • Track record of operational improvements and leading change programs.
  • Leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Engineering background preferred.
  • Ability to shift from strategic to operational focus.
  • Experience managing demanding customers and multisite operations.
