We have an excellent opportunity with our client, who is seeking to provide interim support on a high-profile and business-critical litigation matter.
This is a senior, hands-on role with broad responsibility for UK employment law matters, with a particular focus on contentious and large-scale litigation work. The successful candidate will support the business through a critical stage of ongoing litigation. The role requires a commercially minded employment lawyer who is comfortable operating in a high-pressure and fast-moving environment.
Core responsibilities include:
- Managing contentious employment matters end-to-end, including:
- Employment Tribunal claims
- High Court proceedings
- Group and multi-claimant litigation
- Advising senior stakeholders across HR, Operations and the wider business on employment risk and strategy
- Translating complex legal issues into clear, pragmatic and commercially focused advice
- Instructing and managing external counsel, including leading employment silks and specialist firms
- Supporting litigation strategy and procedural management, including coordination with external legal teams
Candidate Profile:
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with strong employment law and litigation experience
- 4+ PQE
- Strong track record managing contentious employment matters, including:
- Multi-claimant litigation
- Collective disputes
- Worker status claims
- Class-action style matters
- Strong understanding of UK Employment Tribunal procedure
- Comfortable working closely with external counsel without relying on them for basic procedural guidance
- Prior in-house experience preferred, though strong private practice candidates will be considered
- Experience within the technology, platform or gig economy sectors would be highly advantageous
- Resilient, commercially minded and comfortable operating in a demanding, high-volume environment
- Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to manage challenging internal demands effectively
