Our client is seeking an experienced US or Canadian qualified lawyer to join their Group Governance team. This interim role is based in London with flexibility and will involve strategic oversight across multiple jurisdictions. The assignment is expected to start ASAP or early January, initially on an interim basis with potential to transition to permanent.

Key Details:

  • Location: London (3 days in office – some flexibility)
  • Start Date: ASAP / early January
  • Duration: 3-6 months, ideally moving to perm
  • Hours: 5 days a week. International role – flexibility required
  • Pay: Dependent on experience

Role description:

You will take responsibility for governance oversight across the Americas region, providing strategic advice and managing complex subsidiary governance matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Advising on governance matters across the US, Canada, Cayman, and Latin America subsidiaries.
  • Supporting boards, joint ventures, and exploration activities with governance expertise.
  • Managing governance processes for M&A transactions and related corporate activity.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders and operating autonomously.
  • Ensuring compliance with governance standards across multiple jurisdictions.

Requirements:

  • US or Canadian qualified (or dual-qualified).
  • 5–8+ years PQE with strong corporate and governance experience.
  • Proven ability to work independently and engage with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience across multiple jurisdictions and complex governance structures.
  • Comfortable working flexibly to support international boards and stakeholders.
