We are seeking two experienced Senior Commercial Lawyers to join a leading UK and European media and entertainment business on an interim basis during a period of increased demand.

Key Details:

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Duration: Initial 2-3 months
  • Rate: £Daily rate
  • Working Pattern: Open to both full-time and part-time candidates
  • Location: Hybrid/London
  • Office Requirement: 3 days per week for those working 4–5 days; 2 days per week for those working 2–3 days

Role 1: Senior Commercial Lawyer – Talent, Content & Events

This role will focus on supporting a rapidly growing sports content and podcast brand, alongside providing broader commercial legal support across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support on talent agreements, commercial partnerships and brand deals
  • Draft and negotiate a wide range of agreements including talent contracts, contributor agreements, content licences, brand partnerships, sponsorship agreements and platform deals
  • Provide clear, commercially focused advice to the commercial and talent teams
  • Advise on and draft event-related agreements including talent and guest arrangements, venue hire agreements, production and supplier contracts, ticketing terms and ancillary documentation
  • Advise on marketing campaigns and content initiatives, ensuring compliance with applicable advertising standards, platform requirements and content regulations

Requirements:

  • Qualified lawyer with relevant post-qualification experience, including strong in-house commercial legal expertise gained within the media, entertainment, sport, broadcasting, or related sectors.
  • Proven ability to draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements
  • Experience advising on live events, touring, production or broadcast-related matters is highly desirable

Role 2: Senior Commercial Lawyer – Content, Commercial & Technology

This role will support a broad range of commercial media workstreams, partnering closely with content, commercial and technology teams on strategic business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading on drafting and negotiating agreements with agencies, podcast/presenter talent and production companies
  • Drafting and advising on agreements relating to the monetisation and distribution of owned and third-party podcast content across digital, streaming, broadcast and other distribution platforms
  • Supporting content licensing, music rights, and IP-related agreements
  • Advise on content and music licensing arrangements, TV option agreements for narrative podcasts and new product propositions, and work with the technology and commercial teams
  • Support broader commercial activity including supplier, sponsorship, IP and content licensing agreements

Requirements:

  • Qualified lawyer with relevant post-qualification experience, gained within media, entertainment or digital content sectors
  • Significant experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements
  • Experience advising on talent agreements, sponsorship arrangements, brand partnerships and content licensing matters
  • Familiarity with intellectual property and media rights issues
