Our banking client is seeking an experienced Retail Investments Lawyer to support the delivery and launch of a key strategic retail investments proposition. This is a hands-on interim assignment, offering the opportunity to lead a critical legal workstream for a major investments project end-to-end within a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The successful candidate will bring hands-on experience with the retail investments regulatory framework, including COBS, PROD, CASS oversight and ISA, SIPP and GIA wrappers, and will be able to hit the ground running from day one.

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Initial 4 month contract with possibility to go permanent

Rate: £Day rate DOE

Full Time

Location: Hybrid/London. Flexibility for remote candidates will be considered

  • Retail Investments Legal Support: Leading the legal workstream for a major retail investments project, taking ownership of an in-flight programme and driving delivery through to launch
  • Regulatory Advice: Providing practical legal advice across the retail investments regulatory framework, including execution-only propositions and applicable FCA requirements
  • Commercial Contracting: Drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements with key third parties, including investment platforms, custodians, fund managers and technology providers
  • Reviewing and finalising customer-facing investment documentation, including terms and conditions, disclosures and supporting legal documentation
  • Working closely with compliance, product, operations and technology teams, as well as external legal advisers, to support delivery at pace
  • Advising senior stakeholders on regulatory, legal and product matters, providing pragmatic solutions to support business objectives

Qualifications: UK-qualified lawyer, minimum 5+ years PQE with strong financial services regulatory and retail investments experience

Retail Investments Expertise: Strong working knowledge of the FCA retail investments framework, including COBS, PROD, CASS oversight and investment wrappers such as ISAs, SIPPs and General Investment Accounts (GIAs)
