Lawyer Acquisition Associate @ Flex Legal

Our client, a global bank, is looking for an Interim Mid-Level Banking Lawyer to join their team for 6 months!

• Role: Legal Counsel (Contract)
• Duration: Approximately 6 Months (January 2026 – June 2026)
• Location: London
• Work Pattern: Hybrid (50% office attendance expected)
• Compensation: Day rate basis

Role Responsibilities

• Review finance documentation (including security and collateral) to ensure compliance with new regulatory requirements.
• Gain a deep understanding of Credit Risk Policy and Regulatory Handbooks and apply them to documentary reviews and complex business queries.
• Engage directly with CIB business stakeholders to discuss legal conclusions and implement solution‑driven approaches.
• Convert external counsel advice into practical, front‑line tools and templates, helping shape the future of legal advice delivery.

Qualifications

• English Law qualified lawyer (Solicitor).
• 2–8 years of Post‑Qualified Experience (PQE) in a top‑tier private practice banking team or comparable in‑house role.
• Sound working knowledge of LMA facility documents and typical English law guarantee/security documents.
• Proven ability to read and apply complex policy/regulation to specific fact patterns without constant supervision; think independently with high autonomy.
• Excellent ability to analyse finance documentation and interpret regulatory requirements.
• Ability to articulate complex legal conclusions clearly and succinctly.
• Enthusiasm and collaborative mindset for working within a dynamic project team.

Highly Desirable

Experience working with US financing documents.
