JOB SUMMARY

Flex Trainee is Flex Legal's social mobility scheme, designed to open up routes into the legal profession for talented legal and co sec candidates.

The scheme combines real client placements with structured support, giving trainees genuine legal or co sec experience alongside a clear path to qualification.

The Interim Head of Flex Trainee Talent will lead on all aspects of candidate attraction and recruitment for Flex Trainee.

Working closely with the Head of Trainee Success to deliver a programme of learning and development opportunities for Flex Trainees.

  • Leadership and management of the Flex Trainee Talent team
  • Candidate talent acquisition for Flex Trainee and Internships
  • Candidate engagement across Flex Trainee
  • ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Creating, implementing and delivering the hiring strategy for Flex Trainee (legal and Co Sec), Internships and reporting on appropriate targets
  • Identifying high quality/high potential candidates via sourcing tools such as Linked In and Recruitee etc
  • Responsible for candidate attraction partnerships - for example with likeminded social mobility initiatives like 93% Club
  • In conjunction with the Marketing team, coordinating Flex’s participation in law fairs and other recruitment events; as well as managing relationships with university/law school societies and careers offices
  • Assessing candidates wanting to join Flex Trainee, including reviewing and assessing applications, identifying and implementing appropriate candidate screening tools and managing the assessment process (including Assessment Centres for Flex Trainee candidates)
  • Oversight of candidate onboarding to ensure candidates are effectively set up on Flex platform and all relevant compliance checks and paperwork are in place
  • Building strong relationships with candidates
  • Working closely with Client team on matching Flex Trainees to clients and facilitate the client interview and offer process
  • Leading on the Flex Trainee ‘Readiness Programme’
  • Devising and executing on-going training plan for Flex Trainees, working closely with the Head of Trainee Success
  • Measuring success of readiness programme and be able to demonstrate ROI
  • Defining, delivering and reporting on quarterly OKRs for talent acquisition, and reporting of progress
  • Taking responsibility for the design and implementation of best practice for talent acquisition
  • Working closely with other Flex teams, including Account Management/Sales/ Marketing/Tech/Finance
  • Managing key partnerships relating to Flex Trainee (eg SQE training provider, apprenticeship provider and social mobility partners), with support from Flex Trainee Success Manager
  • Attending networking and other events and be an ambassador for Flex Legal
