The Talent Manager will primarily oversee all aspects of candidate attraction, assessment and recruitment for Co Sec Trainee, our corporate governance training scheme. The Talent Manager will shape and execute talent initiatives, ensuring a high-quality candidate experience and alignment with business objectives. They will also assist with Talent responsibilities in relation to the Flex Trainee, our legal SQE scheme and any future Trainee initiatives.

- Talent team assistant, including Flex Trainee and internships

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruitment
- Oversee all stages of the hiring process for Co Sec Trainee including application review and assessment, candidate progression, interviews and Assessment Centre, and final offer management.
- Lead timely and professional candidate communications to ensure a positive and consistent first impression of Flex, reinforcing our employer brand.
- Contribute to team efforts to develop partnerships with social mobility initiatives to inform long-term talent strategy and drive inclusive hiring practices.
- Ensure recruitment systems (e.g. Recruitee) are accurately maintained, with a focus on data integrity, reporting capability, and process optimisation for Co Sec trainee.
- Lead the identification and recruitment of candidates for Co Sec trainee roles.
- Assist On Demand Engagement team by knowledge sharing best practice for Governance recruitment.
- Contribute to team efforts to enhance recruitment processes, develop talent acquisition strategies, and refine assessment materials to drive efficiency, improve candidate quality, and support scalable growth.
Candidate Assessment
- Develop and maintain Co Sec trainee interview materials
- Interview candidates via Zoom and in person
- Assist with the planning, execution and review of Co Sec trainee Assessment Centres.
- Rolling out ACs in new locations and online where needed.
- Assist on Flex trainee Assessment Centres and internship assessments.
- Review and implement new candidate screening and assessment tools to drive efficiencies across the Talent team.
Co Sec strategy
- Assist in the implementation of hiring strategy for candidates for Co Sec Trainee; set, track and report on appropriate targets.
- Identify opportunities to improve the quality of the candidate pool and adapt sourcing approach accordingly.
- In conjunction with Marketing team, participate in law fairs and other recruitment events;
- Take the lead on enhancing recruitment processes, developing talent acquisition strategies, and refining assessment materials ensuring they reflect the skills required in line with client expectations for Co Sec trainee, and incorporate best practices and emerging trends in recruitment and candidate assessment.
- Contribute to strategy and process improvement for qualified Company Secretary hiring.
- Governance candidate and client networking and market awareness.
Operations
- Drive effective use of the candidate portal, ensuring it is fully optimised to support candidate attraction, onboarding, and matching opportunities.
- Oversee the onboarding of suitable candidates, ensuring profiles are fully and accurately completed to enable efficient talent matching and resourcing.
- Ensure timely and professional candidate communications, maintaining a consistent and high-quality candidate experience.
- Proactively identify and resolve issues in the application, screening, and onboarding processes to ensure a seamless candidate journey and protect stakeholder relationships.
- Analyse candidate attraction and assessment data to identify trends, improve processes, and inform strategic decision-making around future recruitment initiatives.
Trainee Placement
- Work closely with the Head of Talent, Legal Talent Manager and Commercial team on matching Flex Trainees to Flex Trainee clients.
- Attend client calls or visits to ensure accurate trainee job descriptions are created.
- Arrange interviews, conduct client prep calls and gather and share candidate and client feedback.
Learning & Development
- Support on all aspects of the Flex Trainee ‘readiness programmes’; assist efforts to secure participation from facilitators, presenters and mentors, especially for Co Sec trainee scheme.
- Liaise with RP venues on all aspects of AV, logistics and catering as required.
- Contribute to L&D strategy and facilitation of stand alone L&D training sessions.
