This role is a 12 months Fixed Term Contract or Secondment if internal.
Purpose of role
To support the Nurse audit function in completing audits for the Nurse Analyst Pagination teams. Requiring agile working and confidence speaking with stakeholders at all levels, internal and external and delivering constructive feedback for continuing development. Support the audit function of the Nurse Analysts' products (minimum of 2 audits per Nurse per month). Assist when required in reviewing all products sent externally to ensure quality is of the expected standard and that process is being adhered to.
Main Responsibilities for the role
- Performance of quality check and audit of all products completed within Nurse Pagination Team.
- Audit is to include a review of paginated bundle, chronology, index, schedule of radiology and opinion of merit.
- Including quality check of opinion on merit and other products to ensure all relevant medical records and key points considered, ensuring consistency amongst the products.
- To complete an agreed number of audits per nurse analyst per month.
- Provide results / constructive feedback to the Nurse Analysts as well as their Team Leader.
- Keep documentary evidence / data of department audit results.
- Data delivery to Nurse Manager and Head of.
- As and when necessary, to flag any issues with the product that may need clawing back from Legal.
- Liaise with your Team Leader and Nurse Educator to flag any individual or department specific training needs.
- Assist when required with training of new starters and development needs.
- Research medical conditions and standards of care with recognised evidenced research.
- Review medical records and any other documentation relevant to the case.
- Assist when required with completing pagination products.
- Adding to or amending pagination bundles already prepared at the instruction of either the legal members of the team.
- Experience led progression towards competing Risk Assessment 1s / initial leads into the business.
The ideal candidate will have
- Minimum of 3-5 years' post-qualification clinical experience in NHS practice / clinical setting.
- Working as a Nurse Analyst.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Be highly motivated, organised, and proactive.
- To have precise and high-level attention to detail.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Positive attitude to change and delivery of constructive feedback to peers.
- Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards.
- Working knowledge of audits and interpreting the findings to improve/maintain practice.
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience
- Experience of proclaim or other software tools for example Adobe, Microsoft.
- 2 years' as a Nurse Analyst (negotiable DOE).
