Location: Hybrid, Southport, Manchester, Liverpool or Leeds offices.
Medical Law Services have a fantastic opportunity to join our growing Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in undertaking assessments of clinical negligence leads conducted by our medical legal acceptance team with a view to identifying cases where there are sufficient prospects to proceed. In addition, they will provide legal guidance where needed to the Medical Law Services Teams.

Main Responsibilities for the role:
- To review clinical negligence leads reviewed by the medical legal team and SIDSS.
- To accept at RA1 any cases which satisfy the ‘acceptance criteria’ as set out in the firm’s policy document.
- To identify on risk assessment the relevant date of knowledge, record on Proclaim and record the reasons why the limitation period has been set to that date.
- Provide training, guidance and support to Medical Law Services and Fletchers lawyers as necessary.
- To support systems teams with the development of the SIDSS system.
- To provide legal guidance to the MLS Teams and where needed assist with case progression.

- Experience of handling clinical negligence claims

- Excellent case management skills
- Good knowledge of medical conditions and ability to identify appropriate case categories
- Precise and high-level attention to detail
- Analytical skills and a methodical approach
- Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work as a team member and remotely
Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Experience of Proclaim or other software tools for example Adobe, Microsoft
